Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Teers mobile application ("App") provided by Aidan Schwartz ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Teers. By using the App, you represent that you meet this requirement.

2. Your Account

  • You are responsible for activity under your account. Keep your password secure.
  • You agree to provide accurate information when signing up.
  • You may not impersonate others or create accounts for the purpose of deception.
  • You may delete your account at any time from inside the App (Settings → Delete Account).

3. Acceptable Use

When using Teers, you agree not to:

  • Post content that is harassing, threatening, hateful, defamatory, sexually explicit, or illegal.
  • Spam, scrape, automate, or interfere with the operation of the App.
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation.
  • Submit reviews or rankings on courses you haven't actually played.
  • Upload photos you don't own or have rights to.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the App.

We reserve the right to remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or our Community Guidelines.

4. Your Content

When you post a ranking, review, photo, or other content ("Your Content"):

  • You retain ownership.
  • You grant Teers a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, distribute, and modify Your Content as needed to operate the App and its features (e.g., showing your ranking on a course's profile, in the feed, and in friends' views).
  • You represent that you have the rights to the content you post and that posting it doesn't violate anyone else's rights.

5. Course Data

Course information (names, locations, photos) is sourced from public APIs (e.g., Google Places) and from contributions by users. We do not guarantee its accuracy. Course operators may request corrections by emailing aidschw@gmail.com.

6. Intellectual Property

The Teers name, logo, and app design are owned by us. You may not use them without permission.

7. No Real-Money Wagers

Teers is not a gambling platform. The App does not facilitate or process real-money wagers, payouts, or settlements. Any "mark as paid" type interactions in groups are informal ledger toggles between friends; no money moves through the App, and Teers takes no fees and processes no payments.

8. Disclaimer

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THE APP WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR ALWAYS AVAILABLE.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL WE BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO $100.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or pose a risk to the service or other users. You may stop using the App at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimer, limitation of liability) survive.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated via the App. Continued use constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

13. DMCA / Copyright

If you believe content on Teers infringes your copyright, send a notice to aidschw@gmail.com with subject "DMCA" containing:

  1. Your contact info.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work.
  3. Identification of the infringing material with enough detail to locate it.
  4. A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized.
  5. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and you are authorized to act.
  6. Your physical or electronic signature.
